Myriad Lingerie

Lingerie Scam: CupCake Intimates, Daisy Corsets and More!

lingerie scam alertSo what do these lingerie websites have in common? They are all sites that sell lingerie and are owned by the same scam artist. To get the full picture, I would recommend also reading the first two articles in this series because they are dealing with the same people.

Thanks to Dave, a reader that has personally got scammed by these people, I have been alerted that the lingerie scam sites are still running strong for Jennifer Lutke and Kevin Freed. In this article I have tried to break down each of the businesses.

Cupcake Intimates (www.cupcakeintimates.com)

When I typed in “Bad Girl Intimates” into the Better Business Bureau, I received a lot of information right off hand. Besides the 45 (and counting) complaints that were officially filed with the BBB and the rating of an “F”, I learned that Bad Girl Intimates is also known as CupCake Intimates.

The business start date on Cupcake Intimates is March of 2009. Didn’t take very long for that to go down the toilet did it? These people work swiftly and are very quick to change their DBA name and domain name.
Do you know what happened when I typed in www.cupcakeintimates.com? It transferred to…

YumDrop.com (http://www.yumdrop.com/)

Now, when I typed in the CupCake Intimates address I did notice that it had a redirect on it. The site that it went through was sharesale.com. I then got curious about what sharesale.com was because YumDrop was a name I had recognized and have never heard anything bad about.

Sharesale.com is an affiliate site. On their site they describe an affiliate as follows:

“An affiliate is an independant organization or person, who is willing to promote a product or a service, in exchange for a commission should that product be purchased, or lead generated as a result of your online promotional efforts.”

So what does it take to be an affiliate on shareasale.com?

“Affiliates must have a valid web site address and valid email address in order to participate.”

Wow, not much criteria there to meet. This means that virtually anyone can sign up and become an affiliate. When doing so, that person represents your company in some way- due to the fact that you are “affiliated” with them.
When researched farther, I found the doxylingerie.com also redirects to yumdrop.com as well. With that information, I sent an email to yumdrop.com to inquire about their affiliation with cupcakeintimates.com.

The Response from YumDrop

Basically, the owner informed me “It seems like Doxy and Cupcake are part of our Shareasale affiliate program. Up until today I was unaware that they were actually selling lingerie on their sites in the past.”
It was then stated that “We have recently received emails from people that placed orders with Cupcake upset that they have not received their items. We are explaining to them that we are not part of their organization. We are basically advertising on their site.”

So, it is official that YumDrop.com is NOT part of Doxy or Cupcake Intimates lingerie. The question I would then have is- Why would you want to affiliate yourself with that type of company?!

SexyCreations.com
I'm curious how this site got on your scam list. While Sexy Creations doesn't pay the BBB to be on their 'list', it is open and going on its 11th year online. The company originated in 1998 in Las Vegas, NV and moved to Southern CA in 2005.

Store Owner
I want to add my experience with Daisy Corsets. I should have known better when they sent me a plain text form for my checking account information indicating that they don't accept credit cards. Now I am worried of them cleaning out my account....

But I placed an large order through them and posted their items on my online store. A few of my customers ordered several of their items. I emailed Daisy Corsets asking for an ETA and they never responded to my email. As of right now, they did not take any money out of my checking account, but I am at the point that I may close out my account. What exactly is their scam? Why are they listing their products for sale and then not providing them to their retailers?

After reading this blog, I am removing their items from my store. I wish this blog came up on the top of Google so I would have seen it sooner. I am glad that I navigated the pages to find it. Thanks for the info!

Viioleteyes.com
Hello, I am the owner of www.Viioleteyes.com. I have been in business since 2004. I have been dealing with Daisy Corsets alot and in their defense I would like to say that I have not had any issues with them. Sometimes they may be a little slow and non responsive, but they just started and nobody is perfect.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. It looks to be that this lady (and man) scam people out of money in a few ways. From research, I have heard reports of them being very slow to even withdrawal money out of peoples account/credit card and then not deliver, deliver very late or deliver the wrong item and then never respond back. You can see cases of this on ripoffreport.com

Either these people are horrible business people and keep trying to start over with new businesses because they keep hooking up with the wrong suppliers or 2, they are scam artists. The way they set up their businesses and market, however, leads me to believe they are crooks. Add the court case they lost on top of that and it does not look like morally sound business practices.

As far as being on top of the Google pages- I used to be until the Google algorithm changed!:( I am working hard to get it back where it used to be on the first page though.

Again, thank you for sharing your experience so that any person doing research on this company can weigh all aspects of them.

In Response to Mrs. Jamie
Thank you for posting on the site Mrs. Jamie and offering your experiences with the company as well. I am glad you have had no severe bad dealings with them personally, but as far as "just started", I think that is somewhat arguable. They have had plenty of lingerie businesses throughout the years and are not new to eCommerce as a whole. Congrats for being in business since 2004- which a lot of online owners cannot say. Hopefully dealing with their slow response and non responsiveness does not effect the customer service in deliver items, etc. Seems like you are playing with fire. As someone who is deeply involved in business, I would not tolerate below average performance- even from a company that was "just starting". In fact, I would actually expect them to be on top of everything because they are trying to make a Good name for themselves. Just my opinions though. Again, thank you for your post.
